Review:

What an enjoyable read. It is one of those love stories with so many twist and turns, that keeps you pulled in page after page. Love, mystery, tragedy, even ghost and more. Great characters with a wonderful story line. Definitely one of those books that you can see in your mind as it unfolds. That is when you know you have started reading a great tale, when it pulls you into the story and you see it unfold in the depths of your mind as you turn each page. I must say some of my favorite parts were when the characters spoke in such a way, you could almost hear their Scottish accent.

The story (centered mainly around three characters, Fiona Corrigan, and brothers Patrick and Sean Berenger) begins unfolding as the troupe finishes closing night of a play. While out celebrating before they start their journey to their next plays destination, a shadowy figure shows up with a summons for the troupe and one for Patrick to come to a small remote Scottish village. One of the actors, Patrick Berenger, originally from the small village, doesn't at the time realize his brother, Sean, is also summoned. A brother he hasn't seen in years. As you find out through the story, both brothers left their childhood village separately on bad terms with one another.

The troupe is taken the next morning by train, in a winter storm, down a private track leading to the tiny village. They awake in an abandoned sleeping car miles from the village. With the train long gone, no where in sight, they arrive by foot in the village and thus begins the unfolding of an amazing story telling adventure. Also, the almost love triangle between Fiona and the newly reunited brothers. In love with Patrick, Fiona after some events, also becomes involved with Sean. Some mysteries, secrets and lies unfold about the Berenger brothers and some residents (former and present) of the tiny highlands village. Also, the summons has a catch. The two brothers must unite once more and perform a play with the troupe. An original play at that, but a play that finally reveals all, unbeknownst too the brothers, troupe and villagers.

Well, I won't give all the story away. I will say, if you like mystery, love stories, ghost stories, or a mix of the three, you will most definitely love this story. I will say this, just as you think the story is winding down to the end, BAM, one last explosion to the tale. A twist you would've never seen coming, but definitely a climatic ending to the story.

Who will Fiona end up with? Will they ever leave the village? Get a copy of Ghost Light and read the answers for yourself. Trust me, you won't be disappointed in the least.
